Foundations of Faith

This Mural was created by: Ram Rojas

Early and current churches of the community, sheltered by a guardian angel, grace the north wall of the Homme Home of Wittenberg on Reed Street. Rom Rojas of Door County, Wisconsin, immersed himself in the history of the local churches, including the Ho-Chunk Nations, to accurately depict these foundations of faith. This was completed in spring of 2006.

An American Fresco:  How many outdoor Frescos are there in America?  Virtually none!  This soft covered book with pictures and text portrays the story of this unique happening.  Ram Rojas, a classical artist, has created this rare Fresco on four walls, depicting the founding of a small rural village, Wittenberg, Wisconsin, by a Lutheran Minister in 1875. There is an angel more than 2 stories high on one panel, the Reverend and Mrs. Homme on another, 7 current churches on another,  3 cherubs on another, and hidden pictures of the birds and animals of the area throughout the fresco.

People browsing the "web" may order this book and become enlightened and entranced. Or, delight yourself by visiting this Village of Murals, Wittenberg, Wisconsin, in person..
