Alan Clough
Alan Clough graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, in 1968 with a Bachelor of Art Education Degree. After serving two years in the Army, he began his teaching career as a K-12 Art teacher in Wittenberg, Wisconsin in 1970.
In 1972, he became involved with the first of many High School musicals. He designed, built and painted the stage sets for 30 years. He is an accomplished landscape painter, with a preference for acrylic and watercolor. Over the years, he has been asked to design everything from logos for businesses to billboards and interior color schemes for homes in the Wittenberg area. He is also an experienced potter and jewelry designer.
Since his retirement in 2004, he has painted numerous trompe l'oeil style interior murals and large landscapes. He has been interested in painting large pieces since completing his first mural, which he painted in the officers' club while serving in Vietnam.
Alan created the murals Restoration and Revival. He also painted a two story mural entitled Optical Foolery, which is painted on the back of the WOW space downtown Wittenberg, Wisconsin.
