Andy Goretski

Andy Goretski is a renowned muralist with over 40 years of experience who lives in Lincoln County on the edge of the Wisconsin Northwoods in Tomahawk, WI. He has been decorating Wisconsin since 1984. As a mural painter and wildlife and commercial artist, his work has been primarily in hand painted graphics and using art to enhance visual communication whenever possible. The majority of his work has been creating signs for schools, hospitals, small businesses, churches, vehicles and government organizations. He notes that "to draw and paint is an urge that is strong."

Andy's artistic journey began at the age of 16 when he painted murals on garage doors, sparking a lifelong passion for large-scale art. Over time, Andy became involved with the international organization “Wall Dogs,” known for its community-focused mural projects. His leadership and talent have made him a sought-after project leader for numerous murals across the Midwest.

Wildlife and the natural beauty of the Northwoods inspire much of Andy's work. His murals often reflect the environment surrounding him, and his skill has earned him recognition as a master in both creating and restoring outdoor murals. Andy's restoration of the William H. Bradley Mural in his hometown of Tomahawk is among his most recent achievements.

Throughout his career, Andy has contributed to some well-known mural projects, including the Algoma Sport Fishing mural in Algoma, the King Midas Flour Mill mural in Plymouth, WI, and the Delavan Art Colony mural in Delavan. Additionally, the Wittenberg community proudly displays two of his works, “The Nuts and Bolts of It” and “All Aboard-All Aboard,” as part of the Walls of Wittenberg collection.

Andy’s reputation as a gifted artist continues to grow, with his work in high demand for original murals and restoration projects throughout the region.

Andy said: "The train mural-'All Aboard! All Aboard!' is a great subject for me. I love to dive into the history of old Wisconsin...and I have enjoyed the research. The basis of the mural is the train depot and the Chicago Northwestern Railroad trains which served Wittenberg. It is my intention to reproduce it accurately and illustrate the importance that rail once had in any small town."
