Connie & Tim Friesen

Connie and Tim Friesen, artists from Lakewood, WI, particularly enjoy art project with children and they were thrilled to paint "The Spirit of Wittenberg Still Sings" with local school children. The mural project was timed with the school studies of Wisconsin history and wildlife.
 
Connie used audio and visual explanations to teach the children painting techniques. As she told Wisconsin Public Television who documented a portion of the mural painting process, "I use a range of sound effects to communicate, like 'you take a brush like this and go---brrr, brrr, brrr'." The film crew was amazed at how much the children learned from and understood from her teaching methods.
