Walls of Wittenberg – 2021 new mural – “Mother Earth”

WOW’s newest mural, “Mother Earth, The Observation of Humanity’s Transformation”, shortened to “Mother Earth” is gracing Kristy McRae’s Down to Earth massage therapy building on Vinal Street in Wittenberg.  The Madison artist, Emida Roller, was contacted and hired to bring this vision to a reality.

The creative process, by Emida -- ”Kristy, the owner of Down to Earth Therapy had definite ideas of what she wanted for the mural and shared some images with me.  I gave her two design options and further developed the one she picked using the earth, an eagle, a dove and flowers.  The Mother Earth ties in well with Down to Earth, a wonderful massage therapy business.  With the inside newly renovated, the outside needed some sprucing up too.”

“The design was transferred to the primed Polytab material, 18’3” X 8’, 5 panels in all.  The mural was painted with exterior paint at my winter studio in Connecticut.  In the spring of 2021, I transported it back to Madison, WI where I adhered the painted Polytab to aluminum panels.  The finished panels were delivered to Wittenberg and then installed by Steve Vera for everyone to enjoy.”
